Client Profile: Industrial equipment mfg/dist site for major Division of a Fortune 1000 global firm - new position created due to ongoing business growth and operational expansion.

Position Responsibilities:

Provide global leadership in supply chain management, including LEAN process improvements and commodity purchasing responsibilities for the Division. Directly influence the work of materials managers, buyers and transportation professionals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

" Provide international strategies, guidance, direction and support for supply chain management processes and activities
" Manage & direct purchasing and planning activities for Division headquarters operation
" Interface directly with traffic and purchasing personnel at all domestic and global division locations
" Coordinate global contracts relating to appropriate transportation and third party logistics' providers
" Identify and recommend new suppliers to help reduce Division's overall spending
" Develop and implement a systems to capture commodity, tooling and MRO costs and find methods for cost reduction
" Support Export/Import regulations and Corporate policies
" Review and implement Duty Draw Back program, when required
" Team with other corporate divisions to establish procedures that identify alternative sourcing and suppliers to leverage best value buying opportunities for the company
" Team with other company locations to support low cost country sourcing initiatives (i.e. Brazil, China, India)
" Qualify new/existing suppliers by teaming with quality assurance, procurement and engineering departments
" Integrate the experience of Division and Corporate teams to develop and implement a common system that defines steps to identify / approve suppliers and provides a performance rating system

Position Qualifications:

" 8 years' experience managing a global suppliers' base
" Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management, including team building; negotiations; verbal, written, presentation communication skills and problem solving skills.
" Strong organization skills facilitating cross-functional teams and decision making processes.
" Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain credibility with all levels of management through working knowledge of company vision, mission and business strategies.
" Demonstrated process improvement (LEAN) experience to design, lead and conduct reviews of business processes, communicate findings, make recommendations and implement approved changes.

" Familiarity with import/export regulations, tariffs and NAFTA

" Capacity to manage multiple priorities and achieve consistent, quality results
" Available to travel 20% and work on projects off-site

Educational Requirements:  " BS in Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, other sciences or BA in Business
